Festival Chorus

The Philly POPS Festival Chorus is a 180-voice ensemble that performs with The Philly POPS under the direction of Jeff Kern, Head of the Vocal Division for University of the Arts.

The Philly POPS Festival Chorus began performing in 2002 and performs with the POPS orchestra during the annual Christmas concert series and Broadway series. The chorus has performed with many professional artists including Faith Prince, Capathia Jenkins, Ashley Brown, Lisa Howard, Lauren Kennedy, Rachel York, Alice Ripley, Ann Hampton Callaway, and The von Trapp Family Children.

The Festival Chorus is an auditioned, volunteer organization composed of singers ranging from high school students to retired professionals.

FY18 Season: The Philly POPS Festival Chorus will perform in A Star Wars Celebration (Oct. 20-22), A Philly POPS Christmas (Dec. 1-19), Lenny's Revolution (Feb. 2-4, 2018), and POPS Rocks (Apr. 27-29, 2018). Chorus members are not required to participate in all concert series.

Audition for The Philly POPS Festival Chorus FY19 Season!
Please stay tuned for details! Auditions take will take place in August 2018. 

To Audition: Prepare 16 measure of a song in any style, please bring sheet music. The audition will also consist of sight-reading. Basic music reading skills and choral singing experience are required. Current members of the POPS Festival Chorus do not need to audition.
