Remembering Gerry Lenfest

It’s impossible to mention H.F. Gerry Lenfest without mentioning the formative impact he has had on the arts in Philadelphia—Gerry will certainly be remembered in Philadelphia’s history as a father of Philadelphia’s vibrant cultural scene.

Like many other arts organizations around the city, the POPS was touched by his magnanimity. Through the “Love the Arts” program, the POPS received irreplaceable communications support to help us flourish. Seeing the success brought by the program, Gerry himself described the POPS as a “poster child for Love the Arts.”

“While we are deeply saddened by the loss of Gerry, we are also eternally grateful,” said Frank Giordano, President and CEO of The Philly POPS. “Gerry was a humble and straightforward person—focused on how he could help organizations and people help themselves. His support has helped make the POPS what it is today, and for that, everyone at POPS says from the bottom of our hearts, ‘thank you, Gerry.’”
