PHILLY POPS MUSICIANS TO PERFORM ON VETERANS DAY IN TWO LOCATIONS

The Philly POPS Festival Brass will perform at two ceremonies on Veterans Day:

When: November 11, 2016 at 11:30am-1:15pm

Where: Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Front and Spruce Streets

What: The Philly POPS Festival Brass Quintet performs for the Veterans Day recognition service, hosted by Major General Wesley Craig. This is the quintet’s second year in a row performing at this ceremony as part of its Salute Series — which recognizes the American tradition of service on important holidays.

Where: Dilworth Park

What: The Philly POPS Festival Brass Quintet performs as part of Dilworth Park’s Rothman Institute Ice Rink opening ceremony.

Who: The Philly POPS Festival Brass is a quintet featuring trombone, trumpet, French horn, and tuba.  The ensemble has performed at the Pope’s speech at Independence Mall in 2015 and the Celebration of Freedom Ceremony on July 4, 2016.

The Festival Brass delights audiences with music from the Great American Songbook, Broadway Shows, jazz legends, and patriotic songs and marches – with pop culture surprises along the way.

The ensemble is frequently invited to provide music of celebration tailored to civic occasions and holidays. It has performed extensively throughout the Philadelphia region at such events as the Taney Dragons’ Welcome Parade, Phillies games, at Macy’s storied Eagle during the holidays and at numerous Christmas tree lightings and other community gatherings.
