Philadelphia, PA (October 17, 2017)— The Philly POPS announced today that Joan Carter, Pamela Cyr, and Anthony Ricci have been elected directors of the Encore Series, Inc. Board, presenter of The Philly POPS.
“As our organization continues on a growth trajectory and expands our community outreach, our Board is evolving to represent a broad constituency throughout Philadelphia,” said Frank Giordano, President and CEO of the Philly POPS. “I’m looking forward to having Joan, Pam, and Tony bring their expertise and experience to our Board.”
Joan Carter, of Haddonfield, New Jersey, is co-founder and President of UM Holdings Ltd., a private company that has owned and operated a variety of business since it began in 1973. Ms. Carter is Chairman of the Abraham Lincoln Foundation and FreedomWorks Foundation. She is a past President of the Union League of Philadelphia and was the first woman President in the League’s 150-year history. She serves on the Boards of the Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, the College of Wooster, and The Lourdes Health System. She is a former Director of CarrAmerica (NYSE:CRE) and is former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.
Pamela (Pam) Cyr, of Churchville, Pennsylvania, is the executive vice president and chief retail office for Beneficial Bank. Cyr oversees a branch footprint of over 60 locations in the Greater Delaware Valley and a team of over 350 individuals responsible for insuring sound operation and long-term profitability growth through delivery of business and consumer loan and deposit products. She has over 25 years of financial services experience, and previously held the position of president and CEO of a Philadelphia based community bank where she executed its acquisition to Beneficial.
Anthony (Tony) Ricci, of Philadelphia, is CEO of Greenwood Racing Inc., owners and operators of Parx Casino® and Parx Racing® in Bensalem, Bucks County. Prior to his appointment to CEO in 2012, Mr. Ricci was the Chief Financial Officer of the company for 18 years. Previously, he was Vice President and Corporate Controller of Commodore, a major computer manufacturer, and worked in the Accounting/Finance Department of SKF Industries, Inc. In his capacity as a former Director of Pennwood Racing, Inc., the general partner of the permit holders of Freehold Raceway and Garden State Park, Mr. Ricci has been qualified and licensed by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission and New Jersey Racing Commission. In 2006, he received a Key License from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
