The Philly POPS is an official partner of the Philadelphia School District. The POPS in Schools program was launched in June to supplement and enhance the School District’s current music programs. POPS in Schools provides in-school Master Classes with POPS artists as well as access programs involving performances and visits to rehearsals and concerts with the POPS at the Kimmel Center, the POPS home.
DeSare has performed across the world, including at Carnegie Hall and in Australia, Japan, and Hong Kong. He was recognized as a “Rising Star” Male Vocalist in Downbeat Magazine’s 2009 Critics Poll and most recently created the new live show, My Generation: The Contemporary American Songbook, which pays tribute to composers such as Cole Porter and George Gershwin as well as more contemporary songwriters like Billy Joel and Ray Charles.
