About The Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia

Supporting The Philly POPS Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia helps preserve, represent, and continue Philadelphia’s rich legacy of jazz music. Moreover, the Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia (JOP) includes supplemental programing through All-City Jazz, an educational component of the JOP founded on providing ample opportunity for jazz programs on the high school level. All-City Jazz is currently in partnership with ten high schools in the School District of Philadelphia.

In addition to embodying Philadelphia’s vital jazz legacy with energetic jazz performances, both locally and outside of its home city, the Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia provides an essential educational component as part of its mission. The educational component is vital to the development of youth and the survival of jazz in Philadelphia.
