The Philly POPS Festival Brass is a quintet featuring trombone, trumpet, French horn, and tuba. From time to time, the Brass expands to a full brass ensemble with percussion for events such as the Pope's speech at Independence Mall in 2015 and the Celebration of Freedom Ceremony on July 4, 2016.
The Festival Brass delights audiences with music from the Great American Songbook, Broadway Shows, jazz legends, and patriotic songs and marches – with pop culture surprises along the way.
The ensemble is frequently invited to provide music of celebration tailored to civic occasions and holidays. It has performed extensively throughout the Philadelphia region at such events as the Taney Dragons' Welcome Parade, Phillies games, at Macy’s storied Eagle during the holidays and at numerous Christmas tree lightings and other community gatherings.
