The Philly POPS Brings Broadway's Greatest Hits to the Kimmel Center

Philadelphia, PA (March 15, 2016)— The Philly POPS will perform three Broadway’s Greatest Hits concerts April 15-17 at the Kimmel Center.

The POPS and Music Director Michael Krajewski will be joined by award-winning Broadway guest vocalists Christiane Noll, Doug LaBrecque and Dee Roscioli, plus the 150-voice Philly POPS Festival Chorus.

The show features show tunes from the last 100 years of Broadway musicals, including selections by the greats: Jerome Kern, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Audiences will hear favorite songs from Broadway’s past and present, including Oklahoma, Chicago, Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera and Wicked.

About Christiane Noll
Christiane Noll, a New York born, New Jersey raised actress was nominated for both the 2010 Tony Award and Drama Desk Award and won a Helen Hayes Award for her portrayal of Mother on Broadway in the Kennedy Center Revival of Ragtime. She made her Broadway debut starring in Jekyll & Hyde, creating the role of Emma, received an Ovation Award for her comedic turn as Hope Cladwell in the National Tour of Urinetown, wowed audiences again as Vanna Vane in the new musical The Mambo Kings, soared as Jane Smart in the American premiere of The Witches of Eastwick, and most recently received another Drama Desk nomination for her work in Chaplin.

She has been a member of the national tours of Grease as Sandy, Miss Saigon as Ellen, and City of Angels as Mallory/Avril as well as a tour of Australia and Thailand as Nellie in South Pacific. Noll made her opera debut with Plácido Domingo and the Washington National Opera in The Merry Widow as Valencienne at The Kennedy Center, her Hollywood Bowl debut with Dame Julie Andrews in The Gift of Music, and her Carnegie Hall debut as one of the 3 Broadway Divas with The New York Pops and Skitch Henderson in his last pops performance.

About Dee Roscioli
Dee Roscioli, a native of Easton, Pennsylvania, is best known for her portrayal of Elphaba in the smash Broadway hit Wicked. She has performed this role on Broadway, in Chicago and across the U.S. and holds the distinction of having performed Elphaba in more performances than any other actress. Last summer, Dee performed the leading role of Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd at the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival. Additional NY credits include The 24-Hour Musicals, Murder Ballad (Workshop, Manhattan Theatre Club), and Therapy Rocks (NYMF). She has also performed Grizabella in the National Tour of Cats. Roscioli has also been invited to sing at the prestigious Broadway on Broadway, accompanied by a 30-piece orchestra.

About Doug LaBrecque
Doug LaBrecque thrilled theatre audiences as The Phantom and Raoul in the Harold Prince production of The Phantom of the Opera. In addition, LaBrecque has starred on Broadway as Ravenal in the Hal Prince revival of Showboat, a role he also performed in Canada and Chicago. He was featured in Oscar Hammerstein’s 100th Birthday Celebration on Broadway at The Gershwin Theatre, and toured nationally with Les Misérables. Regionally, Mr. LaBrecque has performed leading roles in Candide, A Chorus Line, and Man of La Mancha, among many others.

One of the most prolific concert performers of his generation Mr. LaBrecque has been a soloist with some of the world’s finest symphony orchestras including the National Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony, and the San Francisco Symphony, among many others.
